Jeremy Roberts
Born and raised in Ottawa, Jeremy Roberts has been a long-time community volunteer and advocate. He got involved in politics at the young age of 14 in order to help his younger brother, Dillon, who has autism. Since then, Jeremy has been actively involved in local, provincial, and federal politics fighting for a more fiscally responsible and compassionate government.
Jeremy was elected as MPP for Ottawa West – Nepean in June 2018. Since that time, he has served as Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee and, since July 2019, as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children, Community & Social Services. He has devoted much of his time in elected office thus far to fighting on behalf of caregivers and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Prior to being elected, Jeremy served for five years as an advisor to Finance Ministers Jim Flaherty and Joe Oliver and to Health Minister Rona Ambrose. Beyond politics, Jeremy has also been an active community member, volunteering for over 20 years with CHEO and Children-at-Risk, sitting on Board of Directors of l’Arche Ottawa and Youth Ottawa, and running a Max Keeping-led initiative known as the CTV Youth Advisor Board. He was honoured in 2007 to receive CHEO’s highest recognition for its volunteers, ‘The Order of the Good Bear’.
Jeremy lives in Ottawa. He holds a degree in Political Science from Carleton University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford.
